Religion
My name is Mr. Florence Barles! I was born and raised in Wichita, KS and the small towns of Southeast, KS and attended the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Wichita from Pre-K to 12th grade. I graduated from Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in 2021. After high school, I attended seminary for 3 years at the St. Joseph House of Formation from 2021 to 2024. Throughout seminary and college, I served as a missionary and director for Prayer and Action, Christ in the City homeless ministry in Denver, CO, and Vagabond Inner City Youth Ministry here in Wichita.
In the spring of 2024, I discerned out of seminary and graduated from Newman University at the end of the summer. After seminary, I moved out to Lyons, Kansas in Rice County where I served as the parish missionary and director of youth ministry at St. Paul's Catholic Church, served in Lyons USD 405 as a member of the K-12 behavioral support staff, taught at Lyons High School, coached basketball, track, and volleyball and learned so much about rural and Hispanic culture!
In the summer of 2026, I moved back to Wichita and I am so honored to help sow seeds here at St. Patrick and help form your children into missionary disciples of Christ prepared for heaven and help coach and support youth ministry and faith formation throughout the diocese.
In my free time, I play and coach basketball, sing and play the guitar, piano, violin, and organ, and spending time outdoors and at the lake - I enjoy anything you can think of outndoors: hunting, fish, hiking, waterskiing and wake surfing, riding horses and participating in rodeos!
I am so excited to serve St. Patrick Catholic Church and School and help form disciples of Christ each day!
